Threat report – Lands End Office of Legal affairs
Missive to all Lands End Shareholders:
The meta political situation in the bubble surrounding Lands End is unstable. About 2/3 of the length of the NationStates spiral arm distant from the core, among stellar/planetary systems inhabited by the denizens of the Augustinian Alliance regions, the planetary body Lands End, controlled by the Lands End company, is under a threat more sinister than mere plotting of sentient beings. While no foreseeable invasion could mar the grand civilizing projects undertaken on this lone rock, a stark danger hangs just beyond the immediate atmosphere of this world.
The threat is that of entropy. An unproven theory yet an interesting concept maintains that some mathematical evidence suggests a distant but inevitable future state named “The Big Freeze.” The conditions of the Big Freeze basically are projected to be such that each particle of matter would progress so distant from each other that all interactions would cease. Individual atoms and smaller stuff would reach a distance along its vector so remote that energy levels would approach zero. All things, infinitely far apart, infinitely cold, without bearing on any other thing; alone in infinity.
The degradation of all particles, without interaction with other things – this is entropy. This is one possible fate that awaits the folk of Lands End, the Augustinian Alliance, and NationStates in general.
No foreign affairs threats have any bearing on the possible future or security of Lands End. On the contrary, the lack of foreign entanglements, rivalries, or dealings of any great import or meaning threatens the floating mass of exploitable resources and means of production known as Lands End with the menace of complacency and malaise.
What gladiator will stir the unmovable logic and consistency of Market Values? By what artifice will one upstart conjure conflict among the titans of industry who so nobly built this great End of Lands? Any upstart? From where shall the tempestuous monsoons of new ideas fount?
The unknowable answer to these questions will be both a challenge and a clichéd opportunity. The Lands End Office of Legal Affairs diligently shall report on this developing threat.
